color run savannah 5k

noel's friend, victoria, flew into town and we drove down to savannah to
run in the 5k color vibe.
another one of noel's ideas...
she pushes me to do things i wouldn't normally do and i love it.
it was truly a blast. we drove the three hours pretty early in the morning and got stuck in traffic right before the event behind a vehicle accident. we panicked a little when we were 30 min late, but turns out, other people were too and they had various start times, so we were all good. we ran the whole thing. not gonna lie, 3 miles still kicks my butt.

here's our before and after shots:

we were so gross afterwards, and had no where to change. we wanted to explore savannah for the afternoon, so we took turns holding up towels for each other as we changed by the car. that was humorous. good thing we brought baby wipes to wipe the sweat soaked chalk off.

savannah is gorgeous and so charming.
we found a yummy hole in the wall place to grab lunch and then explored the historical downtown.
after we were walking around like zombies, about to fall asleep, we stopped for some gelato and a live band. heaven. then we drove home. of course noel wanted to stop at every cute place on the side of the road, but she limited herself to one cotton field. aren't they gorgeous? i would love to have a photo shoot there! fun times, amazing company, good food, the end.

marine mud run 2012

marine mud run.
tradition from now on out.
i did it last year with some girlfriends, but this year i did it with husband.
so. much. fun.
this year, kavi did the kid run with his buddies.
the kid run is 1 mile and the adult run is 5 miles.
here are a couple before and after pictures:

i was so proud of kavi. he wasn't scared at all and totally kept up with kade, the oldest.
for days afterward, he kept asking to do it again. he had a blast!

after the kid run, we dropped nana and the kids off at home and picked up nate and chelsea.
we only got a couple pictures and none of the obstacles, but you can imagine what we went through by the looks of the after picture. i think there was 19 obstacles and a couple of them involved marines spraying you with a fire house and tons of mud.

it was so much fun with chelsea and nate. they were rockstars. we're lucky to have such good friends and healthy bodies to do fun things like this.

our park routine

winter here in georgia has been so mild. somedays i miss a little cold, but it's been really nice for our workout routine. husband and i pack the kids in the wagon or stroller and walk to our neighborhood park. from there, i take off on my run while they all play. then when i come back, david takes off for his run while i play with the kids at the park. it's the perfect plan and i love it. the girls could be pushed on those swings for hours and hours. especially when daddy does it.

this particular day, husband decided to take off the boy's training wheels on his bike. there's an empty parking lot right there between the park and the pool. he caught on in like 5 seconds. i knew he would. that boy is so coordinated, it's ridiculous. we are so proud of him and he loves riding like a big boy. he still needs a little work with turning and braking, but is perfecting it everyday.

go my kavi boy!

guess who's here for christmas?

little miss is simply obsessed with her auntie. she adores noel's every move and plays with her all day.

*paisley's hat was lovingly made by my SIL molly. so precious! check out her etsy shop!

this morning, we ran lover's point trail. it was oh so freezing and windy, but sunny and well worth it:

also, noel just graduated on friday with her masters in physical therapy! words can't express how proud i am of this sister of mine. she is smart and determined and humble! all this hard work for something she is crazy passionate about. not one complaint has come from her mouth of how hard it has been, especially charging on through a divorce along the way. she is amazing and i know she will be the best physical therapist. i grabbed her this necklace off etsy for her graduation present. small, dainty, simple and humble; just like her:

the trail

last week i packed the double jogger in the
van while paisley played in the dirt:

we ran 4.5 miles along the beach:

it was heaven.
except for the running part.
i detest running.

at our halfway point, the kids got out to play in the sand:

the boy discovered many things and never wanted to leave:

ocean
iphone music
kids
exercise
sand
playing
homeless people
cheez-its
thoughts

nothing better.
