kelly visits

we ate, painted nails, worked out (a little), shopped, talked, swam.
she cuddled my kids, cleaned my kitchen, made yummy salads, and even babysat a couple times.

kelly really is the best. she comes to visit me wherever i move and never ceases to
spoil me and the kids. we miss you kelly; thanks for being such a great friend!

our fourth

don't mind our unswept front porch, but here are my sweet littles the sunday before the fourth of july.
i really do love this holiday, but each year i realize that i haven't done anything to prepare for it up until a couple day before. no decorations, no plans, no activities for the kids, nada. i need to step it up next year. luckily, the kids already had these outfits in their closets.

fort gordon puts on a great fireworks show following a full on carnival. this year, we skipped the crowds of the carnival and found a less crazy spot to set up camp. all of our husbands were working weird shifts, so us "single moms" took the kids by ourselves. luckily david was able to join us right before the show began.

july 4th morning - pancake breakfast at the church.

june

june brought:

belated girls night for my birthday

a trip to 6 flags water park for the husbands for father's day

tomatoes from our garden

lots of snuggles

tons of pool time

healthy food for my tummy

plenty of donating plasma hours

some carter fashion

1 date night to home depot

and a swim lesson graduate!

ombre lovin :: a dresser redo

this revamp is so old, but i'm in the mood to catch up just a little.
i don't know why i've been in such a blogging funk and i don't care to explore it or apologize either so here it goes:

i'd been looking for a tall dresser for husband's clothes for a while
when i came across this beauty at a garage sale for $20.

and here's my version of the ombre trend that is everywhere right now.
i just used small acrylic craft paints so it was super cheap.
i had kind of a difficult time getting all the shades just right, but with that cheap of paint, i could afford my trial and error. i also kept the old hardware to save money and just spray painted them white.

are you into ombre yet? or already bored of it?
