flower pillow

a friend was recently in the hospital and i could think of what
to bring her, until i saw this tutorial at not martha.
i followed the pattern roughly to make a pillow instead:

i used hot glue instead of fabric glue, then just sewed it onto a pillow cover that i made
out of an old blue linen dress. FREE and so fun!

this never gets old

as we were waiting for daddy to get home, we started to mess around with photobooth.
then things started to get silly
and then, even sillier:
until daddy came home.
and joined in:
this one is my favorite!

i could seriously do this all day long... and laugh the whole time!

anyone else addicted to photobooth?

it's my birthday and i can {wear whatever tights i want to}

 i turned 25 on sunday.
i feel a lot older.

at lunch: sheryl took me out on friday

when i was younger, i had a plan about my future.
i wasn't going to marry until the age of 24 at least.
then i would wait 2 years to have children at least.

so according to that plan, i would just have been married now, with no kids.
i laugh at the thought.
i'm 25, married, and fatly pregnant with my third baby.
i wouldn't have it any other way:)

to celebrate myself,
i wore these tights to church:
i got some weird looks, but more compliments.
yesssss!

also as a gift to myself, i splurged on new bedding. my brother, mark, bought this crate and
barrel bedding for us for our wedding 5 years ago. i actually still love it and will use
it for a quilt backing, but i was craving some more color.
before

so to europe i went!
well it seems that way with what i paid for shipping from the UK!
orla kiely.
this is my favorite design of hers. classic and spunky!

after
i have to admit it might be a tad too bright for an adults room, but i still love it.
i don't think that i'll be able to handle it for another five years. but won't it make fabulous quilting material?

another year, another birthday...

i can't get over how much i love spinach!

freshly picked from our garden, our spinach has been our hottest hit!
well, our best grower i should say, because my kids still won't eat it!

isn't it gorgeous?
and it tastes fabulous too!

gender

i get so hyped up about the gender of my babies.
i was so excited to find out the sex today, and i'm elated to know, but i've been feeling weird all
day long and couldn't quite put my finger on why...

last week. 19 weeks.

it's not that i wanted one or the other, but that i couldn't imagine either
gender being added to our family.
now that i know, i can start mentally adding HER to our life.
it's a baby girl!

i know she will fit in perfectly.

her birthday

little miss P turned two on thursday!
she celebrated first at preschool:

then there were presents from grandparents

and the next day was birthday cake time:

she kept making this face all day whenever i would say, "it's your happy birthday!"
she would gasp and bring her hands up to her mouth in surprise--- i loved it!

to my baby girl:
happy birthday!
i love you more than words can say.

i do love my life

ALTHOUGH I do:
complain
whine
moan
AND
gripe,

i truly love being a mother.
these two are my greatest accomplishments and they bring me more happiness than
i ever imagined.
there is nothing that i would rather be doing in my life, than watching them grow up each day.

after baths, they beg me to be nakey for a while

and after pajamies are {finally} on, stories are read:

...night night my lovies

date night

the night before mother's day,  a babysitter was hired,
and adult conversation was had.
dinner at saparro's, a japanese steak house:
our grown up friends

sheryl, drunk on ginger sauce

a little frozen yogo at myo.
how do you like yours?

i love date night.
until the next one...

guam?

"yes, guam" is what her email said.
it came last week announcing that my in-laws are relocating to guam.

 david's parents. christmas 2008

they have found great construction jobs there and are getting rid of all their earthy posessions to move!
i am so excited for them for taking this amazing adventure! how fun to have no ties and be able to get up and move across the world together! of course we're going to miss them like crazy, but they are devoted grandparents, and we know we'll see them every now and then. congrats you two!

the end of sisters weekend

our week ended with a trip to san francisco.
we were lucky enough to meet up with an old family friend,
matt, who is going to law school in SF.
he was so sweet to show us around entertain us (AND perry!)
coit tower,
shopping,
public transportation,
clam chowder and sea lions on the wharf

we called it a night in our marine club hotel and miraculously made it through
2 snorers whom shall remain nameless!

after dropping mom off at the airport, our last day was filled with even more shopping, a chick flick, and in and out before i dropped off the last load of family:
it was hard to see everyone go:(

overall, we had a fabulous week. we did miss annette and molly, our SIL's though!
i feel more than fortunate to have such a great momma and sisters.
i love that our conversations can range from kids, to sex, to fashion, to poop, to spiritual matters...
that's what sisters are for, right?

and sheryl too.

thanks girls, for rocking my world this week! love you
