our labor day

this boy likes his pockets to hang inside out of his shorts.
drives me nuts!

this boy needs a tan.

this girl got so dirty and loved it!

and this girl is about to POP!

after cleaning house all morning,
we headed to the beach
with the windows down and the beach boys playing.
it was a beautiful and calm day at the beach.

36.5 weeks and counting down

i know, i suck at taking self portraits.

orange, of course

this month brings the boy's 4th birthday.
his theme of choice?
orange, of course.

today, we delivered his invitations...balloon style:

parent's stayed in the car while he ran up to the door.

he loved it.

one orange party, coming right up...

my 360 view

after dropping the boy off at preschool, i brought my girl home and we sewed.
with counting crows on pandora and a bottle of water, i got to work.
half way through, i looked over at her and about died of pure joy---
she was eating goldfishes, and swaying in her rocking chair to the music and hum of my sewing machine. she was completely content by my side as i worked.
at one point she even walked up to me, tapped my leg, looked into my eyes, and said
"happy, mommy."

this girl time was priceless and made me "happy" as well.

here's my 360 view of the scene:
pandora and water

fabric strip being pieced together

a sassy look for the camera; she warms up later:)

yes, that's my bra on the bed.
who sews with the confinement of a bra?

the bassinet ready to go for baby #3

back to the computer.
(i keep a trash bag to my left when i sew, to throw cut off threads as i go.)

can you tell i'm 9 months pregnant? holy fatness!

here's her swaying...

and dancing...

and clapping...

goldfishy smile

the end.

i was getting really sick of this space:
blah blah
blah

so i grabbed a couple projects to "re-lift" this entry table.

this mirror was left on the side of the road for trash; love those finds!

i painted it blue, distressed it a little and paired it with my new lamp revamp to
give this table a slight shabby chic feel:

i still feel like something is missing, but it does the job. a little more simplistic than before.

another lamp revamp

i bought this lamp shade a couple years ago from hobby lobby
it was plain white and was meant to be decorated.
i covered it with scrapbook paper and gimp for my lovers' side of the bed:

i basically got sick of it, so decided to follow this fabulous tutorial to revamp it:

i just used an old sheet i had lying around, so this project was totally free!
and totally easy and quick.
anyone could do it!
